Profile

I took up photography because I wanted to showcase the appeal of Kyoto and set up my own video production company. We provide a comprehensive service including planning, filming and editing, right up to social media management with our strength being the creation of stories that resonate in conjunction with the objective. Using the global perspective I cultivated when I studied in San Diego, we can also produce social media for overseas markets. I travel all over Japan with my work while showcasing the appeal of travel and culture on my Instagram account which has 23000 followers.

About the Video

This is a travel Vlog I filmed with the PowerShotV10 of Kagawa Prefecture and Shodoshima Island. It includes the vast natural environment such as The Torii in the Sky that I finally reached after carrying about 10kg of equipment and sweating hard climbing the steep slope or the Kankakei Gorge on Shodoshima Island. It also vividly captured the reality of the trip from gruelling climbs to a meal at an old udon noodle shop, sailing on the ferry, sampling the delights of Meiro no Machi and the hotel with a sea view, really giving a sense of realism from the reality of the journey to the relaxed scenery.

Key Points / Highlights

To show off the ease of the PowerShot V10, I took special care not to overwork a shot, just filming naturally and without stress during the trip. In addition, I was aware of the clarity of the sound picked up by the built-in mic such as birdsong in quiet environments. I produced it to convey the pure enjoyment of the trip in the images overall.

How I used the PowerShot V10

I used the PowerShot V10 to take stationary shots with the built-in stand and to film myself walking. I also filmed in-vehicle footage by rigging the camera inside a car. I only used the built-in mic to record audio without using an external mic. I removed the lens cap that I had initially been using to prioritise the ability to move because I felt it was affecting the filming experience.

First Impression of the PowerShot V10

The biggest appeal of the PowerShot V10 is just how easy it is to use. It’s smaller than a smartphone and is mobile enough to get out of a pocket easily, making the path to filming super smooth. I felt that this was a big advantage for filming a vlog in which I don’t miss a single moment. It’s possible to put it anywhere with the built-in stand and that’s convenient because you don’t have the stress of carrying a tripod around. The 1-inch sensor that gives high image quality, the beautiful colour reproduction typical of Canon and the fact that it’s possible to record clear audio without an external mic are what appeal to me. I recommend this camera to people who want to make everyday recordings or vlogs with high quality in a relaxed manner.
