Travel creator I visit hotels and tourist destinations throughout the world to photograph, video and report on them, showcasing the appeal of travel. I focus on hotel photography and reporting all over the world, writing travel articles and creating VLOGs from the perspective of solo and female travellers.
About the Video
This is a travel VLOG from a visit to Nha Trang in Vietnam. As I was combining the trip with work, I used the compact PowerShot V10 to capture my personal memories. I tried out various different functions such as image stabilization, smooth skin mode and shot selfies using the built-in camera stand in order to preserve the real atmosphere of my trip.
Key Points / Highlights
I was mindful of creating a sense of realism to make the audience feel like they are travelling with me, so I shot from various angles depending on the scene such as POV shots and selfies as well as close-ups of townscapes and cuisine. I tried to better communicate the atmosphere and feeling of the trip by switching perspectives.
How I used the PowerShot V10
I used the PowerShot V10 to shoot all the video. Because it is so compact, I was able to smoothly shoot arrival scenes or footage on the move as I pulled my suitcase with one hand without having to stop. Since it stands upright without a tripod, it was easy for me to shoot selfies in cafes, for example, without taking up too much space.
First Impression of the PowerShot V10
I was particularly impressed by how compact it was and that it was easy to carry around without getting in the way. Despite its small size, the video quality is beautiful, it is simple to operate and accessing each functions such as image stabilization, selfies and digital zoom is seamless. Even with a limited time with the camera, I was able to use it intuitively and record every moment I wanted to without missing anything. It didn’t stand out even when I was filming on my own so it felt natural to use at mealtimes and so on.
