About the Video

Three friends, one tuk-tuk, and a road across Sri Lanka. This film is a visual poem of our journey through the country’s landscapes, traditions, and everyday rituals — a reflection on culture, movement, and the beauty found in the moments between destinations.

Key Points / Highlights

Because this was a travel film with little pre-production, our focus was on observation rather than strict planning. We moved through Sri Lanka with an open eye, paying close attention to composition, natural light, and quiet cultural moments, while making sure our presence never interrupted the natural flow of the people or environment.

How I used the EOS R6 V

We took full advantage of the camera’s small form factor, using it in multiple setups throughout the journey. We mounted it to the tuk-tuk for unique angles, used it on a gimbal for stabilized movement, and stripped it down when needed. For handheld scenes, we rigged it with a side grip, monitor, shotgun mic, and ND filters for better stability, framing, and control. We also relied on IBIS and lens stabilization to capture extremely steady shots without always needing a tripod.

First Impression of the EOS R6 V

I was extremely impressed by the camera’s capabilities. Having 7K open gate RAW in such a small, lightweight full-frame body gave us incredible flexibility, especially when filming across Sri Lanka. The extra sensor area allowed us to compose more freely and reframe shots for both horizontal and vertical formats. The camera worked flawlessly, never overheated, and felt reliable in every setup. It is a camera I would gladly keep in my arsenal.
