About the Video

A stylized fashion film exploring identity through the accessories and philosophies of 3 playful archetypes: the Artist, the Romantic, & the Strategist. Inspired by the idea that every person contains multitudes, we are free to begin the day as one person and end as another.

Key Points / Highlights

I focused heavily on art direction and editing, starting with production design. I enjoy crafting or finding unique sets for each character, then styling wardrobe around that. Like a theater drape backdrop I made from red fabric and blue washi paper or a plain desk turned into a whimsical workstation. When editing, I love shifting & layering mediums. I used bold color palettes, framing, sound design, and creative transitions to bridge a stylized world of stop motion and live action.

How I used the PowerShot V1

For this project, I was solo-shooting with a tripod and using Camera Connect app to remotely capture stop motion sequences. I shot in 4k using Canon Log 3 because it gave me the flexibility to push a more vivid, stylized color palette, while the PowerShot V1’s lightweight body made it easy to reposition around different sets and experiment with creative angles.

First Impression of the PowerShot V1

PowerShot V1 felt very compatible with solo-creator workflow. Great autofocus and surprising color grading capabilities for such a compact camera. It was portable enough to encourage experimentation, but also capable enough to support a more stylized project. I also appreciated the zoom range, which made it easy to move between wider shots and tighter details without changing my setup.
